All patients are entitled to request a chaperone for any consultation, examination, or procedure. A chaperone is routinely offered for intimate examinations to protect and reassure both you and our clinicians.
What is a chaperone?
A chaperone is a trained member of our staff who is present during an examination or procedure to support the patient and clinician, helping to ensure dignity, privacy, and respect are maintained.

- A chaperone will be offered when booking or at the start of your appointment where appropriate
- You may also bring a family member or friend if you wish
- If you choose not to have a chaperone, this will be recorded in your clinical notes
